Yesterday morning, indie-pop artists Tegan and Sara announced their upcoming album The Con X: Covers that will feature covers of tracks from their popular 2007 album The Con in celebration of its 10-year anniversary. Produced by Chris Walla and featuring a supergroup of session musicians from bands like Death Cab for Cutie, The Rentals, Weezer, and AFI, The Con was the first big commercial success for the group; catapulting their career to new heights and growing their audience across genres. Cyndi Lauper, Chvrches, Ryan Adams, Hayley Williams, and Bleached are just a few names from the star-studded tracklisting along with 12 additional artists that will be reimaging T&S hits including "Back in Your Head" and "Call it Off".

The artist/sister duo will also be embarking on a special North American tour this fall (that includes two nights at Austin's Paramount Theater) to celebrate the 10-year anniversary, performing new acoustic arrangements of the The Con and other fan favorites.

Preorders for The Con X: Covers begin September 19th on Tegan and Sara's website and will be available for purchase on CD and digital download on October 20th, followed by the vinyl release on December 22. The band's record label, Warner Bros., will be generously donating all net proceeds from the album to The Tegan and Sara Foundation, which works to empower LGBTQ girls and women.
