A Rolling Playlist Of What Might Be Next On 101X

YouTube

Back in the day, radio staffs would have weekly music meetings, to get everyone familiar with the new stuff the station might be adding to its playlist in the near future, and gather everyone's opinions on what songs we should address "in rotation." For instance--at one nearby station at which I worked--we'd sometimes pile up a bunch of cds (also sometimes a bunch of beer) and cart 'em down to Georgetown's Blue Hole, meticulously going through the stack (and the beer) between leaps off the cliff into the San Gabriel (you could do that then.). If other folks at Blue Hole wanted to chime in with their opinions, they were welcome to do so. I mean, what did we know?

Times are different now; staffs are smaller, everyone in a radio facility is wearing more hats/spread more thinly.  No one in management is going to be too excited about anyone piling a bunch of beer and staffers into a station van to do anything. And, yeah, the damn cliffs are fenced off now, I'm pretty sure.  But still, that last question remains:  "what do we know?"

So, in the spirit of music meetings at Blue Hole, note the "stack" below. I'll keep music moving in & out of this list. Some of it is stuff that's on the alternative chart. Some is just weird and I'd like to hear what you think.  Some is just stuff we like. Some we're already playing a little on 101X. Follow the list on Spotify, and ping me with your thoughts on anything, on Twitter or on Facebook.  The beverages bit is up to you.
