Where's My Money, Denise?
Feb. 03, 2015
Remember back a few months when Niece Denise was staying with me? We had a lot of fun and it was nice to have a girl around who likes getting mani/pedis and going shopping, as most of my other friends have kids and therefore no freedom. Unfortunately for me, Niece Denise also has quite the online shopping addiction. And as her credit card charged fees for use abroad, I frequently let her use mine. Well that backfired on me when she ordered a million things online right before she left. The clothing company also erroneously sent 3 of each item. "No big deal!" she told me, "they'll refund you when I send it all back!"
Well, it never got sent back. "No worries!" she said, "they'll exchange it in the store!" Well. That was a lovely plan, but unfortunately, as my friend and I took the stuff back to exchange it yesterday afternoon, they would only exchange it THAT DAY. Meaning I had a few hundred bucks of clothes to exchange that day, there and then, and I don't even really like the store! It was a nightmare. I felt like I was on Supermarket Sweep or something, racing against the clock (I had to be at the gym at 515) desperately trying to find something I liked. I even told my friend to get some stuff to pad it out. At the end of it all, we've just got this huge pile of stuff and who knows what's going to work. Note to self: NO ONE ELSE GETS TO ORDER STUFF ONLINE WITH MY CREDIT CARD!
