Taking the Test

Dear Diary -

Yesterday I had an interesting experience at the allergy doctor's. I was tested for over 100 different allergens, and, in case you're like my boyfriend and don't realise what this entails, I got stuck like a human pin cushion and had to sit there for three hours while these hundreds of irritants sat in my skin and made me react like I'd sat in an ant pile. The reason I went is because my asthma has been really annoying recently. Apparently, you're only supposed to use your rescue inhaler a few times a month, but for the last few months I've been using it 1-2 times per day. Also, I got pretty sick after my trip home last month and wanted to figure it out. My allergy doc decided I should be tested for anything that could be making me sick to see if we could eliminate it altogether and get me feeling better. So, you wanna hear what I should be avoiding? Dust mites (well, their poop), my cat (well all cats), Timothy (it's a grass or something), walnuts, brazil nuts and shellfish. Some of these don't apply to me, but good luck trying to get away from dust mites which are everywhere, and cats if you live with one!
