Screaming For Help
Jul. 16, 2013
Yesterday something so terrifying happened to me, I thought I was going to have a heart attack. My day started off normally enough I suppose. I left work and headed home to take my dog Blue out for his morning walk in the park. He loves the park, especially in the summer as the kids are off and they always want to pet him and play with him. However yesterday, because of the rain, the park was completely empty as it was raining a bit so we had it completely to ourselves. No worries though, he still had a great walk, sniffed some trees, peed a lot and looked at a squirrel. Then as we were heading home, I happened to notice a stray female dog running down the road opposite the park. I kept my eye on her as you just never know how a stray will behave. And all of a sudden she launches herself across the road and charges, full speed towards us. Now don’t get me wrong, Blue can stand up for himself but I didn’t want a fight on my hands so I tried to pull Blue up by his lead, and keep them apart but I couldn’t and all of a sudden I had a terrible fight on my hands, literally. I tried to kick the other dog away and pull Blue at the same time but it was impossible. I just started screaming. At the top of my lungs. Help help please SOMEONE help me!!! Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!! HEEEELLLLLPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!! All of a sudden I see a gaggle of firemen coming towards me and a team of lifeguards from the other direction, and the dog ran off. The fire engine had been passing by and stopped to help. One of the firemen walked up with an axe and told me “the dog was about to get the business end of this axe”… Jeez! I’m so glad it turned out ok. Blue was a little cut up and shaken and my heart rate didn’t go down for hours, but we were both ok. Thank God for brave firemen!!!
