Deb's Diary
New House, New Neighbors

Dear Diary
I recently moved into a new house, which is great. But it's very different from my old house. I've got trees now, (that like to fall on my roof), lots of wildlife, (that my dog likes to escape the yard to chase) no garage, (which means my car is constantly covered in sap and bird poo) and new neighbours to get used to. None of these are a big deal, I can figure it out, but there is a learning curve. For example, right before Spring Break, my new next door neighbour popped over to tell me that he and his family (that I hadn't met yet) were going to France on vacation, and could I just keep an eye on things. Of course! I told him, so he gave me a copy of his house keys and went on his way. Several days later, the Barron and I woke up and were making coffee when were noticed a window open next door. We both knew that it hadn't always been that way, so we grabbed their keys, my dog and walked over to knock on the door. Unfortunately we weren't greeted by an unfriendly burglar but a very tired and jetlagged lady who'd flown in from Paris at 4 am. Oops! There I was in my PJs with a shirtless Mexican boyfriend and a pitbull. Not the best first impression... Still, she must like me, because she baked me a delicious cake! (It doesn't hurt that she's a professional baker at Coco Paloma.)
