As you may or may not know, I'm not a very good gardener. I don't really have a lot of plants because I've realised over the years, that I'm not very good at keeping them alive. Even the hardy ones. A couple of years ago I even lost my whole crop of cactus. How the hell do you kill cacti in Texas? I don't know but I did. Since I bought my house several years ago though, my main goal in my back garden has been not to kill my lawn. Each year I try, but each year I fail a little bit. I thought this summer I would try a little harder. Last week I purchased a leaf blower/vacuum/mulcher. I was so excited! Maybe getting all those dead leaves and grass clippings off the grass will help my lawn!? I decided Sunday was the day. I was having friends over for another episode of my dexterity brunch and wanted the lawn to look nice. I woke up and made coffee then Jeff showed up early. Not to be distracted I started the leaf blowing, then sucking. However I wanted to get it done quickly so instead of going upstairs to put on some gardening clothes, I just did the work in my robe. Jeff thought this was very entertaining and damnwell photographed me the whole time. You may call it weird but I call it efficient. And this just in: leaf blowers are SO much fun!
