My iPhone Took a Vacation
Jan. 21, 2014
As you know last week I went snowboarding in Colorado with a girlfriend. I had a great time, and would like to thank my friends James and Nick for putting us up and showing us around the mountains. Over the last couple of years as I've tried to get better at boarding I've also figured out all the ins and outs of how to negotiate the mountain. That might sound weird but knowing which lift to get on, or when to take lunch or which runs to go down can really affect your experience. Also, learning where the lost and found is turned out to be very important... You guys wanna take a stab at what I lost? Twice? Yep, my dear iPhone. Losing your iPhone is traumatic but losing a phone on a mountain, in the snow is heartbreaking. How did I lose it you ask? Hmm. I left my pocket unzipped and it fell out while I was putting my boots on. I think. I don't know! But that night we went home and tracked it on the 'find my iPhone' site. That Sh*t actually works! I could see my phone moving down the mountain! The next morning I went to the lost and found and lo and behold - my iPhone! About an hour later though, I reached in my pocket and it was again unzipped and the phone was gone. This time, someone had picked it up as it fell out of my pocket on the lift and they sent it up a few chairs after me. At this point, I handed it over to my friend and didn't use it on the mountain again. I learned my lesson. But still - how amazing is it that I lost it twice, on a mountain, in the snow, and I got it back!!!??
