I was reading an article the other day that explained this weird way in which the world is connected. How millions of people who share no cultural background, language or history, have this one thing that ties them. Us. It's not technology, the internet or McDonalds. It's not Walmart, Starbucks or cancer. It's not global warming, Twilight or the iPhone. No, it's the word 'huh'. Yep, huh. And frankly it's not even a proper word! But according to this article, more people around the world from different countries, backgrounds and languages understand the word 'huh' and it's meaning, more than any other word in any other country's dictionary. This kind of boggles my mind! It's good I suppose, that us earthlings can all communicate on this basic level. BUT let's not abuse it please! There are certain times when 'huh' doesn't cut it. There's a woman who works at my local pharmacy who is not originally from here and she has problems understanding me. Instead of saying 'pardon?' or even 'what?' when she doesn't understand how to spell my name, she says 'huh?'. It drives me mad! Can we try and change this international word to something else please!?!?!?!
