Off to the Farm

Dear Diary

It’s with a heavy heart I tell you guys that I had to say goodbye to my sweet little foster doggie Piglet last week. Well not for reals goodbye, but goodbye for at least a few weeks. I took her to a place in Hutto called Triple Crown training and boarding, to give her the manners of a princess and get her new-owner ready. I thought I could train her myself at home, but she’s just too much for me. I got her crate trained easier than any other dog I’ve ever had to train. I also got her sitting and staying and waiting to accept treats, but when it came to walking her, it was next to impossible for me to get her to heel! My dog Blue is SO good on the leash it was very frustrating not being able to make one iota of difference with Piggie. There was no way I felt good about finding her forever home with her being so strong and badly behaved, so training was the only option. I decided not to tell Piggie that I was taking her to the farm but instead made out like we were just going to play with her new friend Kevin, who is actually her new trainer. She’d met him before when we had a meet n greet and they both took to each other really well, but when I had to leave her in her kennel she just looked at me with the saddest big, sweet eyes and started howling. It was all I could do not to burst into tears. As I drove away, I missed her already, but I know this is the best thing to get her into a wonderful loving forever home…
