Blue's Lumpectomy

Dear Diary

Last week I told you that I was worried about my best friend and life partner  BlueBoy. I had found some weird growths on his, how shall I say, willy, and they didn’t look right so I took him to the vet to get them looked at. As soon as the vet saw them he immediately said, “I do not like the look of that at all.” This freaked me the hell out so I scheduled his surgery that day. Friday was the big day and as I dropped him off, I got all choked up. I knew it was a little minor lumpectomy, and it was a pretty common procedure, but it was the implications of the surgery that had me chewing off my fingernails. What if Blue has cancer? What it they find that it’s spread and is inoperable? What if I left it too late and he dies because I didn’t get those dumb growths looked at when I first noticed them? All these things swirled around my head all weekend. The vet knew I was worried and they let me pick Blue up a little early so I could get him home and take care of him. Now all I had to do was wait for the results, but it seemed like the longest time in the world! Thankfully, the vet got the results back earlier than expected and called me yesterday with the good news that Blue is in the clear! He’s not got cancer!! I almost cried with relief when I got the news. My BlueBoy is going to be around to live another day and eat another set of blinds…
