Embarrasing....

”description”Dear Diary...
A few weeks ago I told you that I had started taking my dog Blue out for a run while I rode my bike. It’s been especially handy while I’ve been ill and unable to run. He seems to love it and I can let him go a lot faster on the bike than on foot. Anyway, if you recall, I was ever so slightly concerned about the dog yankage factor and the fact that I don’t have health insurance at the moment. Well it finally happened. Yesterday I was so busy all day doing bloody tax and office stuff poor Blue just had to wait for me to finish, and it wasn’t until the rain had really started that we left the house. I wasn’t too worried – I ride in the rain all the time! It’d be fun. Sure. I got to the top of my driveway and turned on the street, maybe 300 metres from my house and Blue cut in front of me and instead of just letting go of the lead it got wrapped around the hand grip and yanked me into the road...

I probably wouldn’t have been hurt too badly, but a bus loaded full of people stopped right next to me just as I hit the sloppy, mud sodden curb, and that really hurt my ego. However, in the interest of public safety, I hopped back on my bike and continued like nothing had happened. I didn’t want those poor people traumatized with the image of my blood soaked body indelibly painted on their brains. And I felt silly. SO here’s the lesson in all this: don’t take your dog for a run in the torrential rain on your bike when there’s lots of people there to witness you making a complete fool out of yourself.”description”
