(8/24/14) Monty's Catch of the Day - Caribou

The last time we heard from Caribou (Dan Snaith) was in 2010 with the release of Swim. However, this doesn't mean that the Canadian musician hasn't been busy. As a matter of fact, he has released music in the past few years with his side project called Daphni. But now Snaith is back to form as Caribou and he will be dropping his 5th studio album on 10/7. Our Love is not only the name of the new LP, but also today's catch of the day. The one thing that's made the band so unique is their combination of dance, electronic, and psychedelic sounds. This is very apparent in today's catch "Our Love", but weighing heavily on a retro dance sound that drives it in many directions. It's electronic loops start out pretty simple, but gradually intensifies throughout this journey that clocks in at over 5 minutes long. If this is any indication of what the new album is going to sound like, then we are going to be in for a big treat. You can listen to "Our Love" in the Soundcloud player below. Good things!
