No wristbands this year? No sweat. There’s still a lot going on around town this weekend and even some chances to catch your favorite ACL headliners at more intimate venues (with way less sweating involved and much smaller lines). Check the list below for our non-ACL event picks if you’re passing on Weekend One.

  • Free Art Friday: Get out and discover cool pieces hidden around town by local artists with Spratx’s free art scavenger hunt.
  • Earlybirds pop on over to KGSR’s ACL Morning Broadcast for some breakfast tacos, micheladas, and live sets by The Black Angels, The Revivalists, and more.
  • Movie Riot! Watch your favorite Coldtowne comedians create a hilarious horror film on the spot. And did we mention free margs?

  • Stop by KGSR’s second ACL Morning Broadcast at Threadgill’s for more performances by Missio, Charlotte Cardin, Welles, and more.
  • Catch experimental indie rockers Portugal. The Man in a more intimate setting at Stubb’s ACL aftershow with Lido.
  • Cider Saturdays: Half price tapas and $5 Eastciders when you mention Do512 all day long at Eastciders.
  • Non-early birds have another chance to see Missio perform at their ACL aftershow, 10 pm at Antone’s with Zeale and Nght Hcklrs.
  • Neon Indian DJ Set downtown at Kingdom Austin for all you chillwave heads. Support TBA.

  • Stop by the Jack Daniels pop-up General Store, featuring a $5 barber shop, southern cooking from Miss Mary Bobo’s, a sensory whiskey bar, and more.
  • Free play on all of your favorite old school arcade games like Galaga, NBA Jam, and Donkey Kong, all day Sunday at Kung Fu Saloon.
  • Free Workaholics trivia night on Mohawk’s roof deck patio with drink specials, prizes, and live music.
  • La Cruda: Free cookout, Loteria game, drink specials, and jams by DJ Ulovei from 6-10pm at the Volstead Lounge.
