No More Civil Wars

Joy Williams and John Paul White, otherwise known as The Civil Wars, have officially announced their split.

According to an announcement on their official website, this "difficult decision ends a tumultuous period." Nobody knows exactly what the cause of the break-up is. All we know is that they haven't been on good terms for about two years now. We patiently awaited to see what their fate would be after they decided to go on hiatus for the past year. But it seems now that we'll only have their memory and two albums, Barton Hollow and The Civil Wars, to live with.

Oh, and a free download of "You Are My Sunshine" from their website.

John Paul had this to say to all the fans on the official announcement:

"I would like to express sincere thanks to all who were a part of the arc of The Civil Wars—from the beginning, to the end, and all points in between. My deep appreciation goes out to all who supported, disseminated, and enjoyed the music. Whatever shape or form the next chapter takes, thanks for being a large part of this one."
