A Medical Marijuana License Was Just Issued in Texas for the First Time
Well hold onto your cowboy hats because Texas has just issued its first medical marijuana license, and it looks like two more companies might be getting the thumbs up, too. But unless you have a rare form of epilepsy, you're probably not going to get your hands on a prescription in Texas anytime soon.
The license was given to Cansortium Texas, a division of Florida-based Cansortium Holdings, who will be allowed to grow, process, and sell a form of medical marijuana in Texas. But again, only to patients with a rare form of epilepsy.
A chief exectuive of Cansortium Holdings said in an interview with the Austin American-Statesman that the company wants to establish the industry and become "the most respected company in the medical cannabis space."
Of course it's a complicated issue in Texas and you can read all about it at MyStatesman.com.
