Florence And The Machine is London-born Florence Welch and whomever she's surrounding herself with at the time.   Her debut album,  Lungs, is up for the Mercury Music Prize in the UK.   We've visited the latest UK single "Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)" on a couple of occasions recently, but today stepped back to the long-ago featured first single, "Kiss With A Fist", as it's the song that US audiences are being introduced to FATM through.   Here's a live take from last Spring's Camden Crawl:

I've been MIA for a while, getting whomped by an infection stemming from a teethcleaning that was supposed to be "good for me."   Eight days of hospitalization and some home recuperation later, I thought I'd check in with something worthwhile here.

Today, Muse's The Resistance came out.  Keep an ear out for other tracks from the record on 101X.   And feast your eyes below--awesome BBC footage from the band's hometown sets in Teignmouth, Devon, England just last week!

Enjoy, and I'm looking forward to being back with you on-air soon.

Glasgow's Glasvegas are back with another single for stateside audiences.   "It's My Cheating Heart That Makes Me Cry" has already torn up UK charts. The stateside release coincides nicely with news that the band will be opening for Kings Of Leon on their next fall jaunt.

Bloodshy & Avant are a Swedish production and songwriting team, with songwriting credits on the likes of Britney Spears' "Toxic", and production nods on tracks for Madonna and Kylie Minogue, among others.   Like Pharrell Williams, Peter Bjorn & John, and other production whizzes before them, though, they sought another outlet--and named it Miike Snow (not a typo).   Bloodshy and Avant are joined in Miike Snow by Yank singer Andrew Wyatt; their self-titled debut came out this past spring; "Animal" is the one ...

New Order's (allegedly) no more, but its parts continue to work hard.   Peter Hook hates everyone else and has launched his Freebass project, which has music up on myspace here.   Now his former Manc buddies Bernard Sumner and Stephen Morris have posted their response--a taster track from their forthcoming new album as Bad Lieutenant.   The record will be self-titled, and out 10/5.   Here's the link to hear "Sink Or Swim", and grab more info.
