Goldhawks, Marina & The Diamonds

West London's Goldhawks are touted as a pick to click in 2010, with a new album due later this year and two hit singles ahead of it. Here's the second, "Running Away":
And Marina & The Diamonds aren't a band. They're Marina Diamantis and her fans. M&TD came in second in the BBC's "Sound Of 2010" poll of music movers & shakers, who choose the UK's most-likely-to-succeeds for the coming year, behind Ellie Goulding. This week, we featured "I Am Not A Robot", from the forthcoming "The Family Jewels":

You may have caught the Southampton three-piece opening for Metric last fall at LZR. Baby Darling Doll Face Honey is the name of the debut; the band made a splash last summer with the iTunes Single of The Week in first single "I Know What I Am." The newest single is "Death By Diamonds And Pearls":

"J'Taime (Moi Non Plus)" came up over dinner tonight. Classic controversial single in the mid-60s for Serge Gainsbourg, here from the Placebo frontman and Asia (*cough*) Argento (*cough cough*):

The 3-piece has been embraced by UK radio (Radio One's Steve Lamacq has been outspoken in their support) and the press (Q gives their new disc 4 stars) as well; "Play Together" precedes their debut album Unicorn, out next week. Here's the vid!
