Covering 101X Songs On A Cat Piano

We're a fan of covers - you can hear artists as different as 311 and Johnny Cash covering other people's songs on this radio station - and this may just be the next evolution in that genre of music.

Much like Jimmy Fallon playing popular songs on children's instruments, there's a guy on YouTube whose bread and butter is playing tunes of all genres and styles on his cat piano. No, it's not a piano made out of cats; it's a children's toy keyboard that is shaped like a cat and meows when played.

A couple of months ago, he covered "Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster The People, and it really got some traction online this week.

 

There are plenty more covers on the CatPiano Entertainment YouTube page, and even more covers of songs on untraditional instruments on other channels. Like PMVTUK playing the same song on a bunch of pocket synthesizers that look like calculators.

 

And don't even get us started on Otomatones.
